Who are we?

FRAME was set up by Hollie.

Learn more about her below.

Hollie attended the University of Kent, she graduated in 2005 with a degree in Film Studies and Drama and Theatre Studies.

When she first considered the idea of becoming a teacher, people laughed, surely she can’t be serious,” I am serious, and don’t call me Shirley,” Hollie replied. She started her career as a teaching assistant and within the first few weeks of her new job, they made her an offer she couldn’t refuse when she was asked to head up Media Studies. There was not a Media department at the school, but the head assured her if she built it he will come, unsure who ‘he’ was, she decided to build it anyway. With nothing to support her except a text book and the attitude of ‘Carpe diem. Seize the day’ she underwent the task of delivering A Level to a group of year 12s. Hollie started her career with nothing but a book so had to quickly became an expert in developing creative lesson resources. In 2009, Hollie trained through the Graduate Teacher Program as a Media teacher, she was one of only two teachers to train in Media in Kent.

Three years after starting her teaching career, Hollie became Head of a large Media and Film Department delivering the subject to over 200 students and achieved great success in her results; even winning the Good Schools’ Award for Film Studies results in 2014. Hollie worked as a Head of Department for six years, all the while supporting both staff and students and continuing to develop her bank of resources. During her teaching career, Hollie has delivered GCSE Film Studies and Media Studies, Level 2 and Level 3 BTEC in Creative Media Production and A Level Film Studies and Media Studies. She has delivered and attended training with AQA, EdExcel, WJEC and Eduqas and has also worked for three years as a coursework moderator…but Nobody’s Perfect!
